Understanding Perimenopause.
Perimenopause is one of the biggest biological transitions the body will ever experience—and yet many women find themselves trying to piece together a collection of seemingly unrelated symptoms with very little explanation for why they’re happening.
Changes in sleep, mood, energy, weight, body temperature, concentration, stress tolerance, menstrual cycles, and even digestion can all begin showing up during this transition. And while changing hormone levels are certainly part of the picture, perimenopause affects much more than reproductive hormones alone.
That’s one of the reasons it can be so confusing.
The body is adapting to significant hormonal changes while still trying to regulate blood sugar, manage stress, produce energy, support sleep, maintain healthy digestion, and keep dozens of other systems working together.
Understanding what’s happening can make this stage of life feel a whole lot less mysterious.
Perimenopause: What the Hell Is Happening to Me?
That’s the name of a new course I’m working on—and, frankly, it sums up the experience pretty well.
I’m creating it to help women understand what’s actually happening during perimenopause, why so many things can suddenly feel different, and what they can do to better support the body through the transition.
We’ll talk about hormones, of course. But we’ll also look at sleep, stress, nutrition, metabolism, movement, and the other pieces that can have a tremendous impact on how you feel. I’ll also share practical strategies and supplement recommendations to help you better support the body through this transition.
The course is still in development, and I’ll share more as it gets closer to being available.
In the meantime, if you’re somewhere in the What the hell is happening to me? stage of perimenopause, there’s one thing I want you to understand:
There’s a lot more going on than a few changing hormones.
And understanding what’s happening is a very good place to start.
