My realm of healing work is through the human energy field, and scar tissue can certainly affect it. I have a method of energy healing called Human Soundcheck. It is a multi-channel approach, but the foundation of it is sound healing using tuning forks.
While I was developing my process and learning to get to know the intricacies of the forks and how they were communicating with me, I noticed pretty early on that scar tissue has a very unique energetic signature.
I first encountered this when I was doing a healing session with my long-time practice subject. I got to the area of his left knee and I got a type of resistance different than what I was accustomed to. Then it dropped in- Scar tissue. So I asked him, “What’s up with your left knee, I’m getting scar tissue”. He was like, “Oh I’ve injured that knee several times, there’s tons of scar tissue in there”. Since I know him, I knew he had studied martial arts extensively, so that made a lot of sense.
Fast forward a few years, I’m well settled into my processes and session techniques. In my sessions with clients, I’d come across scar tissue all the time, and addressed where it is, and realized that energetically, it is disrupting things and we’d talk about it. I knew I was addressing it properly, but didn’t realize I could really go next level!
Then, I go to a training seminar on Nutritional Response Testing. There, I learned about how scars can be active. Yes. Scar tissue can be active. In fact, they could just be dormant, and then “turn on” when you’re under stress, like when you’re sick, or battling an illness, not eating right, going through tough emotional situations, life changes, career changes- all the stuff that causes us pressure and stress.
Our Scars
When our scars are active, they are doing all sorts of funky work in the energy field.
When I’m picking up scar tissue with the forks, I believe I’m dealing with active scars. Sometimes in the general area where I’m picking up the activity, my client may have several scars in that vicinity. This is where the muscle testing comes in. We test until we find the offender or offenders.
Once we get there, some real work needs done to address how the active scar is effecting the person and how to overcome the challenge or challenges.
Let’s talk about scars and the many things that are linked to them. How many of you right now are thinking, “Ok, how many scars do I have”? “Where are they”? “How did I get this one again”?
Some are minor, just kid stuff or a cat scratch.
Others carry a little more weight, such as a foot surgery scar or one from stitches.
A little humor never hurt
Some scars happen while you’re having fun, I have one which I nick-named “shark lip”, a big scar on the left of my lower lip. I got it while I was trying to learn to surf in Guatemala a few years ago. In the choppy water, the surfboard smacked me clear in the face and I was bleeding all over the place. The look on my poor teenaged instructor’s face… We spoke mostly in body language. I kept going on with the lesson- we should have been shark bait.
Other scars are more impactful, and have deeper, and often painful memories associated with them. These can also be surgery scars, but often are scars with more trauma associated with them. So not only the scar is there, but the memory of the traumatic event is linked to it.
Sometimes the trauma linked to it is depression or mental illness itself, and was self-inflicted.
We can have scars under the skin too. When a scar is deep, it is not just effecting us energetically. It can very well be effecting us mechanically. That is because when our connective tissue, called fascia, develops scar tissue, it will create tension. But that tension pulls— not in the area of the scar, but usually somewhere else opposite the scar, in another area of the body. This will result in physical pain and trigger points. That scar needs attention! See your massage therapist or someone who specializes in trigger point therapy and muscle pain, even Graston Technique, which is a technique to work the fascial constriction (that tension) with surgical-grade instruments and tissue manipulation.
I also want to address childbirth. That is a trauma to the body. Not only the physical act of birthing a child, but I often encounter C-section scars and other scarring from giving birth that need attention.
We can have scar tissue in organs, too.
Scars & the energy field
So what the heck is going on energetically?
The scar is there as a result of an injury, we all know that. The scar is also holding an imprint of the negative energetic memory of the event that caused the injury.
Just as how we live through a traumatic event, in time, we grow, evolve, and move on with our lives. Sometimes, even though we have moved on, there is still a bit of baggage that lingers and will eventually need addressed.
We have this similar effect in scars. If you’ve read some of my previous posts, or listened to the podcast (Variety Show for the Soul), you may have come across my mention of the meridians.
The meridians, best known in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) or Acupuncture, are energy pathways- our body’s energetic superhighway network.
Scar tissue disrupts the Qi or chi (pronounced chee) -flow, the flow of our life force energy on these pathways. The scar tissue absorbs the energy of the nerve impulses.
When the injury happens, communication is down. As it begins to heal, the signal opens up a little to allow some flow, but if it’s keeping the pathway stopped up and stagnant, this can result in physical issues and or emotional issues related to the area of the body.
I’m an energy healer, so to me, when I refer to the area of the body is both physical in nature (such as your neck) AND energetic in nature, such as your throat chakra or your Triple Warmer meridian.
When I encounter “active scars” it’s an opportunity to help my clients clear that trauma our of their body’s energy field and return it to them refreshed and restored. Cleansed and able to be utilized once more. After all, it is their energy.
Chakra Healing
So how do I do it? Every session is different. I work mostly in the chakra system. The forks like to clear and take rides on the meridian pathways, but the work I’m doing is mainly within the energetic spectrum of the chakras, and their roles in our lives.
Each chakra governs a particular area in regard to our life, our emotions, organs, spiritual attributes, self image, communication, relationships, hormone function, sensitivities… there is A LOT GOING ON IN THERE.
I work with the frequencies of the forks, but simultaneously, we talk through the injury, how it happened if the client is comfortable talking through it.
Then we sort through emotional patterns that may be associated with this energy being stagnant, and as every session is different, we may talk about the alchemy of the situation. How to flip our thinking and fill the void once we clear out the negative. We pull out a positive we can fill it with.
Sometimes we work with color, and breathing- sending energy to the area directly and maybe do a micro-meditation, all the while I’m working the healing frequencies and crystals if they are needed.
Often times, there is homework. I’ll teach techniques for dealing with anything that may try to creep back in. Be it vocal toning, or specific hand mudras, physical touch, stones, I’ve got all sorts of tricks up my sleeve!
Healing Session
I’ll walk you through how it works:
I encounter an active scar… My clients are clothed, so I need to investigate.
I had a young man this past weekend: I was in the heart chakra area, so I asked if he had a shoulder injury or a scar… I told him the area of the body where my focus was and then he was like “Oh- I had heart surgery when I was 15”!
So there was my scar tissue. He couldn’t have been but 27, I’d never thought would have had heart surgery already in life!
So then I tap into the ways an effected chakra would manifest issues for the person. Sometimes it depends on the side of the body I’m on, other times if I’ve already encountered something else in another area of the body, there will be a direct association with what is going on in the new location.
Then we discuss feelings, and emotions that may or may not be adding up quite right, or areas in life that seem difficult to navigate as a result of this energetic disturbance.
Perspective flip
We sort through how to work on perspective. Thought is the most powerful tool we have in this work. Our thoughts are energy. They bathe us in that energy and thoughts create emotions.
We often discuss emotions, because so often we stuff them or fear them and then in turn block them. We talk through how to let them come up and acknowledge them and tools for releasing them. And then… what tools to use to effectively fill the void of negativity that has been released with something positive in its place.
I ALWAYS recommend giving that active scar attention and intentional healing. Wheat germ oil is perfect for the tissue itself, and another important aspect of giving attention is to do it with healing intention. Respecting that spot, giving it the energy it is asking for.
You can order Standard Process Wheat Germ Oil HERE
I mentioned earlier that some scarring is caused by self-harm. If this resonates with you, I really encourage you to get some energy work done along with your existing therapy. This healing work is VERY complimentary to traditional therapy. Try me, or someone like me who does sound healing and my other methods, or go get a Reiki session. Acupuncture may also be a really wonderful method of healing for you.
